PRIVACY POLICY

Effective date: 08/30/2026

Bell Marine Services LLC ("Bell Marine Services," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to our website, our service request forms, and our communications with customers and prospective customers.

Who we are

Bell Marine Services LLC 42085 Breton Bay Farm Rd Leonardtown, MD 20650 service@bellmarineservices.com

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you request service, contact us, or become a customer, we collect
information such as your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and details about your vessel — including its name, make, model, year, hull identification number, engine information, and where it is stored.

Information about your service history. We keep records of work performed on your vessel, including dates, services rendered, parts used, engine hours, estimates, invoices, and related photographs.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring website. This is standard web server and analytics data.

Information from cookies. Our website may use cookies and similar technologies. See Section 6.

We do not collect payment card numbers through our website. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers who handle that information under their own security standards.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to service requests and inquiries
  • Prepare estimates and obtain your authorization for work
  • Schedule, perform, and document service on your vessel
  • Communicate with you about work in progress, including parts and completion status
  • Send maintenance and seasonal service reminders based on your vessel's service history
  • Invoice you and process payment
  • Maintain accurate business and service records
  • Improve our website and our services
  • Comply with legal and tax obligations

Text message (SMS) communications

Bell Marine Services LLC offers text message communication to customers who choose to opt in.

How we collect consent. We collect your mobile number and your consent to receive text messages when you voluntarily provide them through a form on our website, in person at our shop, or by verbal agreement during a service conversation. Consent to receive text messages is never required as a condition of purchasing any product or service.

What messages you will receive. If you opt in, you may receive text messages related to:

  • Service appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders
  • Estimates, approvals, and authorization requests for work on your vessel
  • Status updates on work in progress, including parts ordering and completion
  • Notification that your vessel is ready for pickup
  • Seasonal service reminders, including winterization and spring commissioning

Message frequency varies based on your service activity and account status.

Sharing of mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service providers, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Costs. Message and data rates may apply. Bell Marine Services LLC does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates will apply to messages you send and receive.

How to opt out. You may cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive text messages from us unless you opt in again.

If you need assistance, reply HELP to any message from us, or contact us at service@bellmarineservices.com.

Carrier liability. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Email communications

If you provide your email address, we may send you service-related messages, estimates, invoices, and periodic maintenance reminders. You may unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us. We will still send you transactional messages relating to active work on your vessel.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the site. We may use third-party analytics services that set their own cookies and collect usage data on our behalf.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of our website function.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us operate our business — such as our customer relationship management platform, scheduling and messaging providers, payment processors, and accounting services. These providers may access your information only to perform work for us.
  • Parts suppliers and manufacturers. Where necessary to order parts, process warranty claims, or obtain technical support for your engines, we may share vessel and engine identifying information such as make, model, and serial numbers.
  • Subcontractors. Where we engage another marine professional to assist with work on your vessel.
  • Legal requirements. Where we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or court order, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfer. If our business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.

As stated in Section 4, mobile opt-in data and consent are excluded from all sharing other than support-service subcontractors, and are never shared for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data retention

We retain customer and service records for as long as necessary to serve you and to meet legal, tax, and warranty obligations. Vessel service history is generally retained long-term, because prior service records are relevant to future maintenance decisions and warranty claims.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
  • Ask us to delete information, subject to records we are required to keep
  • Opt out of text messages by replying STOP
  • Opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link

To make a request, contact us at service@bellmarineservices.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children's privacy

Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review their policies before providing information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
